Hiab launches two MOFFETT M8 NX2 truck-mounted forklifts in North America

Two new delivery-fleet models offer different directional-drive configurations. Buyers need to verify truck mounting, load geometry and local service scope.

News brief

Hiab has announced two MOFFETT M8 NX2 truck-mounted forklifts for the United States and Canada. The release identifies the M8 65.3P NX2 and M8 65.4P NX2, expanding choices for delivery fleets that carry their own unloading equipment.

What is new

The official announcement is dated 23 September 2026. Hiab describes a nominal 6,500 lb capacity and both two-way and four-way directional-drive configurations. It says the models can be ordered through its North American dealer network. That announcement does not confirm a particular dealer's stock or delivery date.

The release also describes its Lift Assist arrangement for single-side unloading. The stated extended-reach figure is 5,500 lb, distinct from the nominal capacity headline. Buyers should obtain the applicable load chart rather than assuming every reach position has the same rating.

Why delivery fleets should look beyond capacity

A truck-mounted forklift becomes part of a transport and unloading arrangement. Its mounting interface, carried weight and dimensions need to be considered alongside the delivery vehicle. A larger capacity headline alone cannot establish whether an existing fleet installation is suitable.

Describe the loads and sites before requesting a quotation. Long building materials, access restrictions and the need to move sideways can lead to different configuration discussions. Ask the supplier to explain the offered version against that written brief. The release's productivity and financial-benefit statements are manufacturer claims; this article does not treat them as independently measured results.

Questions for a comparable quotation

  • Which model and directional-drive arrangement is being offered?
  • What load chart applies to the actual reach, load centre and lift height?
  • Which transport-vehicle mounting requirements and approvals must be documented?
  • What lead time, training, parts support and service arrangements are included?

Evidence boundary and dates

This brief was published on 6 October; the original release is from 23 September. ForkliftIQ has not tested the machines, checked dealer inventory or approved a mounting installation. Obtain current model documents and written commercial terms before making a purchase decision.
