Jungheinrich says customers can order its new generation of EFG 5 electric counterbalance forklifts from 1 November 2026. The company announced the order opening on 2 November, after introducing the series earlier in the year. Buyers evaluating heavy electric trucks can now request a specific quotation rather than relying on an announced future sales date.

What changed

The manufacturer describes the new generation as covering rated capacities from 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes. Its announcement identifies a choice of lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries in different sizes and two performance configurations: efficiencyPLUS and drive&liftPLUS. Buyers should ask which configurations are available for the exact market and application.

The November announcement is a sales milestone for a series already presented in February 2026. In February the company had anticipated a third-quarter sales launch; the November statement instead says orders opened on 1 November. Those dates should not be confused with delivery or the availability of an individual truck.

What buyers should compare

Capacity figures depend on the proposed truck, load centre, mast and attachments. Ask for a dated model-specific load chart covering the intended lift height and attachment, rather than assuming the headline capacity applies throughout the working envelope. Obtain the turning dimensions and mast height in both travelling and raised positions for the actual workplace.

The choice between lead-acid and lithium-ion configurations affects the battery, charger, charging location and the responsibilities included in the offer. Specify shifts, charging windows, electrical infrastructure and environmental conditions. A buyer comparing the two performance packages should request their precise configuration and energy data under the intended duty cycle; the announcement does not establish a result for a particular site.

Questions before ordering

  • Which complete truck code, load chart, mast and attachment will be quoted?
  • What battery, charger, warranty and charging infrastructure are included?
  • Which assistance and cabin options are standard or optional for the proposed model?
  • What delivery date, local service coverage and spare-parts support are confirmed in writing?

Evidence boundary

The dates, family range and configuration choices above are attributed to Jungheinrich's own announcements. ForkliftIQ has not inspected or tested the new truck, confirmed current stock or verified an individual delivery schedule. The manufacturer’s February and November releases differ on some comparative technical percentages; this brief does not present those figures as independently established results.
