Information to measure before requesting this model

Measure the pallet entry, load centre, maximum load, rack beams, working aisle, door openings, floor joints and travel distances. State whether the task uses walking or riding operation and record the actual route conditions. Define the shifts, breaks and charging supply.

Ask for a dimension drawing showing the forks, support wheels, platform and mast. Establish the worst pallet interface and tightest turn before discussing nominal speed or battery size. Confirm any cold-store, wet-floor or ramp use with the responsible supplier.

Questions for the quotation

• Which pallet openings, bottom boards and loads fit the quoted fork and support-wheel arrangement?
• Which mast retains our required capacity at the highest beam?
• Which aisle and turning dimensions apply with the standing platform deployed?
• Which battery chemistry, charger and operator-format options are included?

Documents to request

Ask for the complete model and option codes, a dated model-specific data sheet, dimensions, the configuration-specific load chart, battery and charger data, attachment approval, tyre specification, operator and maintenance manuals, scheduled service requirements and the applicable destination-market conformity records. The contracting party should identify who commissions the truck, provides training, supports diagnostics, supplies parts and carries warranty responsibility.

How to compare an alternative

Build one comparison sheet and hold the operating case constant. Use the same load, load centre, lift height, attachment, aisle or route, gradients, floor, temperature, shifts and charging window for every candidate. Ask suppliers to show where each quoted value comes from and whether it is standard, optional, calculated, tested or dependent on a market package.

Separate truck price from the operating system around it. Include charger and electrical work, battery replacement assumptions, tyres, scheduled service, diagnostic access, software or telematics fees, training, commissioning, freight, spare parts and expected downtime support. A lower equipment price can produce a higher operational cost when these boundaries are omitted.

Commercial and delivery boundary

Record the legal seller, Incoterm, delivery location, included options, excluded installation work, document language, acceptance method, warranty start, response time and responsible service entity. Require written change control when the supplier substitutes a mast, battery, charger, tyre, controller or software package after the technical review.

Parts and service identity

The family name is not sufficient for a parts match. Preserve the data plate, full model, serial number, mast and attachment details, battery voltage, controller and display labels, old component number, connectors, ports, mounting points and dimensions. Ask the source of every proposed replacement: catalogue record, drawing, supersession notice or written manufacturer confirmation.

Pallet and rack acceptance

Prepare representative pallets with the actual load secured according to site rules. Record entry direction, damaged-board exclusions, overhang and any unusual base construction. Ask the supplier for a documented compatibility decision before a supervised trial. A powered pallet stacker may share a job with a reach truck, but its supporting wheels, fork geometry and operator position can change access.

For racking, record beam height, load dimensions, maximum weight and the required clearance to place and retrieve the pallet. Ask for the mast identification and configuration-specific residual capacity. Agree acceptance criteria before delivery and request that substitutions of forks, mast, platform or battery trigger another technical review.

Pedestrian and platform operation

The quotation should distinguish walking operation from riding operation. Map turns, intersections, doors and mixed pedestrian areas with the responsible site manager. Request the manual for the offered format and define operator instruction, inspection and commissioning responsibilities. Travel-route suitability must be established for the real floor and environment.

Preserve the wear-part identity

Keep the drive-wheel and load-roller specifications, mast identification, lift-chain record, tiller assembly label, controller identity and battery details with the truck serial number. For replacement wheels, ask for dimensions, material and documented fitment. Confirm where local technicians can obtain diagnostic information and how urgent parts are supplied.
