Ask for the complete model and option codes, a dated model-specific data sheet, dimensions, the configuration-specific load chart, battery and charger data, attachment approval, tyre specification, operator and maintenance manuals, scheduled service requirements and the applicable destination-market conformity records. The contracting party should identify who commissions the truck, provides training, supports diagnostics, supplies parts and carries warranty responsibility.
How to compare an alternative
Build one comparison sheet and hold the operating case constant. Use the same load, load centre, lift height, attachment, aisle or route, gradients, floor, temperature, shifts and charging window for every candidate. Ask suppliers to show where each quoted value comes from and whether it is standard, optional, calculated, tested or dependent on a market package.
Separate truck price from the operating system around it. Include charger and electrical work, battery replacement assumptions, tyres, scheduled service, diagnostic access, software or telematics fees, training, commissioning, freight, spare parts and expected downtime support. A lower equipment price can produce a higher operational cost when these boundaries are omitted.
Commercial and delivery boundary
Record the legal seller, Incoterm, delivery location, included options, excluded installation work, document language, acceptance method, warranty start, response time and responsible service entity. Require written change control when the supplier substitutes a mast, battery, charger, tyre, controller or software package after the technical review.
Parts and service identity
The family name is not sufficient for a parts match. Preserve the data plate, full model, serial number, mast and attachment details, battery voltage, controller and display labels, old component number, connectors, ports, mounting points and dimensions. Ask the source of every proposed replacement: catalogue record, drawing, supersession notice or written manufacturer confirmation.
Define the goods flow before the truck
List the typical and largest item, carton shape, individual weight, picking rate and shelf depth. Describe how orders are consolidated and transferred to the next process. Establish whether a worker can keep the goods within the approved storage zones throughout the task. A narrow chassis measurement does not resolve the space needed for stock, carts or pedestrians beside the vehicle.
Keep height definitions separate
Request a drawing that marks floor level, operator standing surface, goods tray and intended reach. Use the correct reference when measuring overhead obstacles and accessible shelves. The quotation must identify the exact variant and battery package. Have the supplier explain any difference between headline language, the detailed table and the current manual before accepting the offer.
Inspection and recovery responsibilities
Agree who provides operator instruction, commissioning and inspection records and who can respond to an equipment fault. Ask for the manufacturer's documented procedures for the offered configuration, including recovery and any operator-presence or gate controls. Define the acceptance demonstration around the site task and applicable instructions rather than inventing operating steps.
Service parts for a personnel-picking vehicle
Preserve the platform and gate identification, mast record, control-panel label, traction controller, wheels, battery and charger codes with the serial number. Changes to controls or interlock components require evidence from the responsible source. A visually similar part does not establish suitability.
