Buyer interpretation

Assess the complete trailer train and route; a towing rating is not a lifting capacity or approval for every gradient.

A model name helps organize research. Technical approval still depends on one exact configuration and a written operating requirement.

Application boundary

Use a tow tractor when loads already sit on suitable trailers and the task is repeated horizontal movement. Record the empty trailer mass as well as the goods. A towing route does not replace the pallet-lifting job of a stacker or reach truck, and a headline mass alone does not define a complete transport system.

Configuration evidence

The published turning radius describes the tractor. It does not describe the outer swept path or inner wheel track of every trailer train. Measure the tightest junction with the complete combination, including drawbar length, trailer wheel arrangement and the spaces where workers transfer goods.

Operating-system check

The source gives different battery capacities in its parameter table and narrative. Keep the disagreement visible and request a current specification for the exact offer. Do not select one value from the web page, calculate a runtime from it and present that calculation as verified performance.

Information to measure before requesting this model

Record the typical and maximum goods mass, empty trailer mass, number of trailers, wheel and drawbar arrangement, total train length and the actual pickup and delivery sequence. Measure doors, turns, floor joints, gradient changes and stopping or parking locations. State whether loads are secured in bins, racks or another approved carrier.

Separate moving time from loading, unloading, queuing and charging time. Describe mixed pedestrian areas, visibility at crossings, floor condition and any outdoor exposure. Ask the responsible supplier to evaluate the whole combination and identify conditions excluded from the offer before setting an acceptance trial.

Questions for the quotation

  • What trailer gross mass, train length and route conditions were used to approve the proposed combination?
  • Which coupling height, pin, drawbar and trailer interfaces are included in the offer?
  • Which dated specification resolves the 210 Ah versus 280 Ah battery entries for the quoted QDD30S?
  • Who approves stopping, parking and gradient operation with the actual trailers and loads?

Documents to request

Request a current model and option schedule, tractor dimensions, approved towing combination, coupling drawing, trailer documentation, battery and charger specification, operator manual, maintenance schedule and destination-market records. Ask who supplies operator instruction, commissions the complete train, approves route suitability and responds to an equipment fault. Keep a written resolution of the conflicting battery entries with the offer.

How to compare an alternative

Compare offers for the same goods mass, trailer tare mass, train arrangement, route, gradients, floor conditions, transfer frequency and charging window. Record where each towing and energy claim comes from and whether it applies to the specific configuration. Keep towing mass distinct from drawbar force and from the capacity of lifting equipment.

Include trailers, couplings, chargers, electrical installation, batteries, wheels, planned maintenance, diagnostic access, training, commissioning, delivery and downtime support. A cheaper tractor may require extra work elsewhere in the transport system. Ask for an itemized scope so that these differences remain visible.

Commercial and delivery boundary

Record the legal seller, delivery terms, installation boundary, document language, acceptance method, warranty start and responsible local service entity. Require written change control for substitutions affecting the tractor, trailers, coupling, braking, wheels, battery or charger. Confirm whether the quotation covers only the tractor or the whole transport combination.

Parts and service identity

The model name is a starting point for discovery, not proof of spare-part compatibility. Preserve the complete serial number and component labels. Match wheel material and dimensions, coupling details, electrical connections, brake and controller identity against a catalogue record, drawing, supersession notice or written confirmation from the responsible supplier.

Specify the trailer train as one system

A buyer comparing tractors should hold the trailers and load case constant. Describe the coupling arrangement, gross mass of each trolley, maximum train length and whether the wheels swivel or follow a defined steering geometry. Drawbar compatibility includes height, movement clearance, pin engagement and the permitted forces at the connection. A photograph alone cannot establish these interfaces.

Request approval for the actual trailers rather than assuming that a trolley rated for static storage is approved for powered towing. Define load retention and transfer points with the responsible site team. The supplier should identify the permitted combination and document any changes needed before delivery.

Do not substitute tractor turning radius for train clearance

Map the complete route, including intersections, loading bays, doors and areas where the train waits. The rear trailer may pass through a different space from the tractor. Ask for a swept-path drawing or a supervised demonstration with the representative combination. Measure the envelope of the whole train and keep the recorded layout with the purchasing brief.

Resolve conflicting battery information before ordering

The public manufacturer page is useful for discovery, but its table and explanatory text do not agree on the QDD30S battery capacity. The discrepancy is unresolved in this research record. Ask for a dated, signed configuration sheet identifying battery voltage, capacity, chemistry, weight, connector, charger and any substitution rules. Keep the response with the quotation rather than silently correcting the public claim.

Compare available charging windows with the real route and goods-handling schedule. A supplier estimate should state its duty-cycle assumptions and the battery package used. Battery access, ventilation, maintenance and electrical installation must follow the documentation for that package; a general runtime claim cannot replace an operating plan.

Acceptance should test the proposed job

Agree a documented demonstration with the site team and supplier. Use the intended trailers, representative secured loads and the real route under appropriate supervision. The acceptance record should identify the equipment, configuration, route, observed limitations and unresolved actions. Ask the responsible parties to establish stopping, parking, gradient and pedestrian-control requirements; this page does not supply an operating procedure.

Preserve towing and service identity

Keep tractor and trailer identification together: data plates, full model codes, serial numbers, approved coupling details, wheels, controller, brake assembly, battery and charger labels. For a replacement coupling or wheel, request dimensions and a documented fitment source. Do not approve a safety-related substitution solely because the replacement resembles the old part.

Use the parts request route to organize identification and evidence. If the task also requires stacking pallets, compare the separate EP ES16-RS stacker route; do not compare its lifting rating directly with the towing figure.

Evidence boundary

ForkliftIQ has not inspected or tested this truck. Published capacity, dimensions, energy and software statements remain attributed to the manufacturer source. Current availability, exact configuration, regional documentation, dealer authority, lead time, field performance and warranty must be confirmed in writing for the offered truck.
