Do not assume a charger is suitable because the connector fits, the voltage looks similar or the housing resembles the old unit. Ask the battery and charger suppliers to confirm the exact proposed combination and configuration in writing.
Manufacturer-specific features vary. For example, EnerSys describes battery-data and charge-profile features for NexSys+ chargers; that is not an approval for an arbitrary battery or charger. No wiring, charging settings or plug conversion is prescribed here.
